Leuchars is a village in North East Fife Fife with a population of around 2,600. According to Scotland's Town's Partnerships we are characterised by our military base - Leuchars Base. Employment provided by the base is high and we have a high proportion of young families and women staying at home compared to towns of a similar size in the area. The Community Council also includes the community of St. Michael's which is located approximately 1 mile North West of Leuchars village itself and is home to St. Michaels Golf Club.
 

Our local Parish Church St.Athernase is the finest example of a Romanesque Church in Scotland and is a Category A Listed Building. It sits on a hill within a conservation area in the centre of the village and is open to the public in the summer and by arrangement at other times. Parts of the church date to the 12th Century, relics inside the church include a 9th Century cross slab found near the village.

Leuchars Train Station is the main connecting station for St. Andrews which is located 6 miles away, is particularly busy during Golf events and term time as a transport link for St. Andrews University.
